Sports Medicine Las Vegas

Agape Health treats injuries in athletes and non-athletes alike. You don’t have to be a professional athlete to get help, just like you don’t have to be a pro athlete to get injured. Everything from consistent nagging pains to critical injuries can be effectively diagnosed and treated by our Las Vegas sports medicine doctor.

Most of the time there also will be some form of functional testing or movement assessment. The exam typically takes about an hour. If your specific case is more involved it may be split between two visits due to the amount of time it may take. At the end of the exam, you will be given a report of findings, meaning you will be given the following; a diagnosis or multiple diagnoses, a treatment plan, and lab/imaging may be discussed or a referral to other healthcare providers.

Dry Needling Las Vegas

Dry needling is a treatment performed by a skilled, licensed physical therapist.

An extremely thin needle is placed in the skin to target underlying muscular trigger points to help manage neuromusculoskeletal pain and motor/movement impairments. Dry needling can be performed on and benefitted by anyone from our professional athletes to the general population. We find that our patients looking to recover from weightlifting especially respond to the practice. Learn more about getting dry needling in Las Vegas!

Cupping Las Vegas

Cupping is the use of glass or silicone “cups” to create suction on the skin’s surface. We use cupping in Las Vegas to help recovery, remove toxins, increase blood flow, and decrease inflammation in our athletes and non-athlete clients.

Cupping has been used in the US since the time acupuncture was introduced. Chinese and other cultures have thousands of years of research and antidotal results. Michael Phelps helped to bring cupping and taping into modern culture during the 2016 Olympic Games. The crowd noticed red circles on Phelp’s back, which instantly drew attention. After Phelp’s earned 6 medals, it became obvious that he was onto something.

Chiropractor for Gamers/Desk Workers in Las Vegas

Whether you have a desk job or you are a gaming athlete, repetitive stress from sitting can add up to dysfunction affecting the entire body. Often patients in this demographic suffer from conditions like upper cross syndrome, lower cross syndrome, and crush or stretch injuries to nerves resulting in injuries like carpel tunnel, cubital tunnel, tarsal tunnel, etc. Patients with an upper or lower cross syndrome respond well to joint manipulation and muscle treatments like a myofascial release. Additionally, these patients benefit from strengthening their weakened muscles and stretching of the tightened muscles. In regards to the nerve component of these injuries, nerve flossing techniques are helpful in re-establishing normal nerve tension. This will help with numbness, tingling, and weakness/fatigue.

CrossFit Injury in Las Vegas

Weightlifting and CrossFit both use loaded (weighted barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell, etc.) primary movement patterns. Primary patterns are the squat, dead-lift, press, pull, and reciprocal patterns of human movement. These patterns are important in athletic development, rehabilitation of injuries, and everyday activities or activities of daily living (ADLs)s. It is imperative that these movements are done well and often. Breakdown occurs when the form of these movements is not perfect from injury, compensation, bad habits, muscular imbalances, improper programming, “over-training” etc.

Sports Injury Recovery Las Vegas

We’ve heard it too many times. Someone gets injured and heads to their primary care physician. The physician then refers them to a specialist, who takes 3+ months to see them. When they arrive, they get a 5-minute look-over, resulting in either 1) a dismissal or 2) a recommendation for surgery. They go for a second opinion, but at that point, their insurance is starting to cap their spending, and they have to start paying out of pocket.

Some of our clients arrive in this state. If they had come to us first, we could have seen them right away, medically diagnosed the injury, and provided treatment planning and implementation immediately. Athletes know how crucial a quick treatment can be, but you don’t need to be an athlete to want to save the time, money, and heartache that can come from being passed around from doctor to doctor.

At Agape, our Las Vegas sports injury chiropractor will safely treat your condition quickly from start to finish.

ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE LAS VEGAS

Active Release Techniques® is the gold standard in soft tissue care. Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia, which can tighten or lock after training or athletic performance. Over-tight soft tissue can limit recovery, and keep you from playing at your best.

We use Active Release Techniques in Las Vegas to encourage, train, and assist healthcare professionals in identifying and resolving conditions that are misdiagnosed or not efficiently treated by conventional methods. Through ART, millions have discovered that they do not have to “just live with” pain or restricted movement. Countless surgeries, scopes, and invasive procedures have been avoided by using Active Release Techniques®.

SPORTS MASSAGE LAS VEGAS

Manual myofascial release (aka sports massage) is defined as a therapeutic treatment of the soft tissues of the body using the provider’s hands. This approach most often resembles a “traditional massage” type of treatment.

Soft tissues include nerves, nerve plexus, muscles, tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, and the connective tissue known as fascia. Our Henderson sports massage chiropractors at Agape Health have been trained in manual myofascial release for injuries throughout the entire body, from your feet to the top of your head.

We use a form of myofascial release that involves movement of the affected area while it’s being treated. Learn more about getting a sports massage in Las Vegas today!
